It's 2011! We are back and ready to get back into learning! I hope you all enjoyed your vacation, and got to spend some time with family and friends. I am excited to be back and know that there is so much to do! Here is an outline of the next few things we will be studying and some helpful links and vocabualry to help kids at home. Jan 10-Jan 20 State testing Jan 11 (1:45-2:30) is our class time. We will be working on Reading, then Math.
Jan 4-10 Finishing up ecosystems and adaptations
Jan 10-14 Review of states in the US, the NW region and a final test on the states.
Jan 16-19 Beginning unit on Body Systems ( digestive, circulatory, muscular, skeletal) also tied in will be nutrition and health.
Currently we are studying the genres of fiction and will continue through next week.
In writing we are wrapping up our fictional narrative and will be publishing a picture book soon.
Math: 3D geometry with shapes. Learning vocabualry (faces, edges, vertices) Then we will work on volume of 3D shapes.
Continue to work on basic facts, multiplication and long division.
